Doves Classroom, The 2’s- Toddler/Preschool

The Doves classroom is a busy room as children transition from toddler to preschool age. The Dove classroom holds children from age two to age three. (Children must be 2 by Sept. 1st). This is an essential time for growth and development. During their time in the Doves classroom children will begin to develop more functional communication as language blossoms and personalities develop. Children begin taking on more tasks independently and exploring their curiosities. They start to tackle more independent tasks such as using the potty, dressing/undressing, expressing their wants/needs, and taking care of their own materials. They experience strong emotions and push boundaries while trying to understand the world around them. The Doves classroom holds a smaller child ratio of 2:9 which gives the teachers in the classroom, Ms. Maygen and Ms. Sarah, a more intimate space to help foster growth and development through age-appropriate activities, songs, and stories. They value empathy, flexibility, and laughter within the classroom, and provide the children with a range of opportunities that foster curiosity, exploration, intentional play, independent skills and social-emotional skills.
